With a full stage, sound system, covered patio, and a beautiful courtyard by the historic R.E.M. steeple, our venue is ideal for event coordinators and guests alike. Building History

After Linda Phillips conceived the idea of Nuci’s Space, she began to search for the right place to bring the idea to life.

Linda stumbled across the seemingly abandoned building perfectly nestled in between UGA’s campus and downtown Athens. Behind the building was a dilapidated steeple which she later found out had been attached to St. Mary’s church which was the first place REM had performed. After finding this out, her gut-instinct that the warehouse was the place for her mission was further confirmed.

The building itself had previously been an electric motor repair shop and had been on the market for years due to the owner not approving of buyer’s proposals to use the building. However, after hearing Linda’s story and plan, he sold her the building and she renovated the space, creating four practice rooms, a stage area, a coffee bar/lounge and a library.
