September 2024 - Transmissions from Space

Here at Nuçi’s Space, the entire month of September is Halloween Eve! We hope you’re getting into the spooky spirit like we are!

You’ve undoubtedly noticed that what we call Halloween Eve is also football season. That’s kind of hard to avoid in Athens! We hope you all have a happy and safe time as you hunker down and enjoy your football! Go Dawgs!

You may notice a few new friendly faces around the Space this month - not only do we have lots of new volunteers (we’re so excited to have you, and welcome!), but we’ve also got a group of shiny new interns who will be working in various departments over the next few months!

So - please help us welcome to Nuçi’s Space MJ, Cam, Ali, Logan, Kana, Drew, Abby, and Adrian! Please make sure to say hello and introduce yourself if you see them in the Space! We’d also like to welcome Torri Browner who is joining our team in a work-study capacity and has already proved herself invaluable to youth programs, where she’s assisting with Pre-Amped.

Volunteer of the Month: Oskar Mejia

Nuçi’s Space is a place that welcomes one and all with open arms. I started volunteering at Nuçi’s a few months ago and was immediately blown away by the positive energy that you feel as soon as you walk in the door. This is a second home for musicians and even just anyone who just needs a friend or a helping hand. I’m grateful for the people I’ve met in my short time volunteering at Nuçi’s; the staff and the bevy of artists and musicians that walk through those doors. I’m honored to have been chosen as volunteer of the month of September and will continue to give it my best effort as a volunteer to make sure that Nuçi’s Space remains a welcoming community space for musicians and artists. Hope to meet some more great people in the future and continue spreading the positive vibes.- Oskar, What Nuçi’s Means to Me

  • There’s a new volunteer check-in page on the front desk computer! Check it out at the beginning of your shift for news about Nuçi's Space and a suggested shift duty! You can find it on the web browser bookmark toolbar.

  • If you receive returned out-of-house rental gear during your shift, please remember to mark the reservation as completed!

Volunteering at Nuçi’s not fitting into your schedule anymore but still interested in contributing? We always accept donations of your unused music equipment and gear! We are also seeking in-kind donations for daily operation supplies and services, so if you think your workplace has something to contribute, please reach out!
