Amplify Studio Community Engineer Policies
Please review the following policies for using the Amplify Studio at Nuçi’s Space. While engineering out of Amplify, you are representing our organization and mission. All are welcome and all are expected to treat staff, equipment, and each other with respect and kindness.
-
Amplify is open from 12pm to 10pm daily. Recording sessions are booked in 4 hour blocks (12 - 4pm and 6pm to 10pm). There are two hours built in between each session to allow Nuçi’s Staff to studio prep and cleaning. When reserving consecutive blocks, the changeover time is included at no additional cost (12pm - 10pm).
A) 12pm - 4pm : $80
B) 6pm - 10pm : $80
C) 12pm - 10pm : $160
Session blocks include set up and break down time. Please plan accordingly to leave enough time to return the studio to “normal” state (any messes cleaned, all gear returned to homes, etc). If multiple days are booked in a row, studio may be left unnormalized and outside gear may stay overnight. Nuçi’s Space is not responsible for any lost or stolen items and the Community Engineer is responsible for ensuring the studio is locked at the end of night.
-
A 50% deposit is required to reserve studio space. If deposit is not received, your reservation is subject to cancellation. Reservations can be modified or canceled up to 48 hours prior to reservation. Any deposit for no–shows or cancellations with less than 48 hr notice will not be returned. Engineers who regularly no-show or cancel with improper notice may have studio privileges revoked.
Reservations must be made with 48 hr notice. No studio reservations will be taken day-of.
All reservations must be made with an Amplify approved engineer. Sessions without an approved engineer will not be accepted. For more information on booking the studio for your band email Amplify@nuci.org for help finding an engineer.
If the studio is left in poor condition, or the engineer loads out late, they may be charged an extra hourly fee for additional staff resources/time used.
-
Please alert Nuçi’s staff at the beginning of your session if you discover any lost, damaged, or malfunctioning equipment in the studio. In the event that equipment is lost or damaged during a recording session, the session’s engineer may be held responsible for repair or replacement. We understand that accidents happen but in some situations it will be necessary to bill a client or engineer for equipment damaged. We repeat: Please proactively bring up issues or malfunctioning equipment to us immediately so that you may not be held liable for something that's not your fault.
-
The load in time for all sessions is right at the time that the reservation begins. Be sure to build adequate load in/set up time into your reservation plans. Early load in may be possible at staff discretion at the beginning of reservation if cleared beforehand. Load out needs to be complete at the time the reservation ends. Engineers are responsible for making sure the entire party is packed up and out of Amplify by the session’s end time. This includes returning the room to its normal state (returning gear to its home and consolidating gear that doesn’t live in the studio), cleaning any messes, and copying any session files. Feel free to ask staff if you have any questions on returning the studio to a normal state.
